In today’s blogpost I am sharing all about how to accessorize the ever growing baby bump while still maintaining comfort and style. More specifically this post is brought to you by one of my favorite boutiques here in Central Illinois and that is the Prairie Gardens & Jeffrey Alans boutique.
PRAIRIE GARDENS and JEFFREY ALANS of Central Illinois & Indiana (Locations: Peoria, Normal, Springfield, and Terre Haute, Indiana), my favorite boutique is having a huge BOGO sale this upcoming weekend (Nov. 2-4) and all of you Central Illinoisan/Indianian folks need to check it out!
Fashion has always been a love of mine and not because I am some sort of renowned "fashionista," actually, I can't stand to wear anything that makes me want to take it off the minute I step foot in my house. I just like good ol' classic (and cheap) pieces that I will wear rain or shine but that I feel confident and beautiful in.
I just want to walk into my closet and not feel overwhelmed with the amount of inconsistency that lies between each hanger. This little blue button up dress made the cut when I began my purging process.
Sunday's haven't exactly been our "relaxing family day" this season. Everyone that has a realtor for a spouse know that Sunday's are one of the busiest days of the week for them. But yesterday we got out and about with the kids and made it a point to spend some one on one time with them.
With Easter right around the corner I thought I would share one of my recent fashion finds from one of my favorite shops. If you are a local to Champaign then you know that Prairie Gardens is one of the most prestigious and notorious home and gardening shops in the area. But what a lot of people don't know is that it's recently acquired a beautiful clothing boutique as well.
This outfit is just one of my go to looks this autumn and I'm just going to tell you right now that these slip back peep toe booties are literally my favorite shoes this fall; not only are they incredibly trendy, but they are honestly the comfiest shoe I've worn in a LONG TIME!
It's been a while since I've done a fashion post, but in between flipping houses, moving, and MORE moving I haven't had much time to do anything! Except for find a few pairs of amazing Levi jeans, which are quickly becoming some of my FAVORITE styles to wear these days! Especially these cropped flare jeans.
I have been meaning to fill everyone in on my t-shirt line since like 3 weeks ago but I haven't for a couple reasons:
1. I have been incredibly busy with moving/selling our flip house/hosting a moving sale.
2. If I'm being sincerely honest, I have been feeling a bit like a failure for not reaching my goal.
As a mom, there are a few things that are essential to making life easier; ONE of them being wine...ok, I'm kidding, I'm kidding! But for real COFFEE...alright for real now, all jokes aside. A GOOD DIAPER BAG is ESSENTIAL!
Since I was a little girl I've always been custom to wearing "my sunday best" to church. I know now (as an adult) there is some controversy on that particular subject. However, it has become a fun way for me to dress up and explore the many fashion trends.
This striped t-shirt dress from Tobi has been my go-to dress this summer. Seriously, I have been living in it every chance I get! This summer has been crazy busy with the flip house well underway (and almost finished) I have been here, there and everywhere.
HELLO MONDAY! This weekend Guy and I had the chance to get away for a 24 hour period and travel up to Chicago to attend a wedding for a lifelong girlfriend of mine. We we're so excited to be able to get away just the two of us (after all it was our first overnight alone since before Eliza was born) and this yellow dress was the perfect wedding apparel for the perfect summer night!
My goal is to be able to send $1000 to this organization from the selling of these shirts. But in order to do that I need to sell $5,000 worth of t-shirts, which is an astounding 625 t-shirts to be exact! Right now as I type this...I'm already feeling defeated because that sounds absolutely crazy to me. Impossible even.
I always love jumping into a new season, I love seeing all the new trends and buying a few pieces to mix and match throughout the rest of year. This year, is the year of off the shoulder tops, gladiator sandals, and boyfriend jeans.
Last week when I traveled back to my hometown in Michigan, my oldest sister Hannah picked out the perfect spring outfit for me. We ventured down the road to this beautifully restored church in the country and took in the beauty all around us.
A couple weeks ago I shared with you my collaboration with my sister Hannah on our very first beauty tutorial over on my YouTube channel and today, I'm excited to share with you that we teamed up yet again to bring a little fashion to your Friday! Hannah has always been not only an amazing makeup artist but stylist as well!
About a month ago I opened up about how I was joining the "New Year, New You" bandwagon and was really adamant about committing myself to getting healthy. I wanted to take my readers along on this journey with me as a way to keep me accountable and stay motivated. Well I can officially say that it's been about a month and a half since I started this journey and while it's been difficult, I've seen a lot of growth in myself and I've also seen a lot of success.
You can never have too much black am I right? And secondly, you can never have too many dresses (double right)! I have teamed up with The Mom Capsule to bring you this chic and comfy, little black dress! It is super lightweight, easy to move around in, and hugs you in all the right places. Not to mention that semi-open, criss-cross back gives it just the edge you need for a great night out on the town.
Let's be honest ladies, we all want to look good when we're out and about. And when we're traveling with a bunch of kids in tow we question if looking "cute" while still remaining comfy is even possible. Fortunately for you, the heavens have declared that it is in deed possible to look stylish and be comfy while traveling!
I am fully aware that I am a week too late on the whole "New Years Resolution" train, ESPECIALLY in the blogging world! You're supposed to be like two weeks ahead of every topic, holiday, and event to even stay relevant. Well the stomach flu has no regard for my relevancy...sooooo here I am...trying to put into words my "new years resolution."
My husband is one of the hardest people to buy gifts for. He never drops hints, gives suggestions, or admits he "needs" anything. So when thinking about Christmas shopping for him, I immediately die a slow painful death. I absolutely HATE buying gifts just to "buy gifts." I always want them to be meaningful and actually be something that is needed and/or wanted.
Back in June, I experienced being stolen from for the first time in my life. If you've been around my little corner on the internet for a while you may remember my ranting over the issue on my blog and then that post being picked up by The Huffington Post in an article I titled "To The Person That Stole My Diaper Bag."
I wanted to share with you a collection of some of my go-to outfits this fall and hopefully you can get as excited as me to layer up as the weather turns a little crispier! :) I am by no means a "fashion expert" or a "fashionista" but I like to dress up and I like to feel good about myself in what I'm wearing...so that makes me a semi-fashion lover right? haha
If you know me, you may have noticed that I'm quite the minimalist when it comes to jewelry and accessories. I have my "go to" earrings and necklaces but I like to keep it pretty simple and casual. Over the last couple years I've seen some jewelry companies emerge and one that has stuck out to me is Stella & Dot. They've got super cute and funky jewelry that is high quality and affordable!
Although I've kept it pretty casual this summer there was still one accessory on my must have list that has been PERFECT for this season! My handcrafted wood watch from JORD! If you haven't heard of these one of a kind watches then you need to get out more! Ok...maybe I'm not one to talk, BUT seriously these watches are BOMB!.
Jumping into the winter season is hard, especially if you don’t LOVE the cold temps. However, what if I told you that learning how to properly stack your closet in the coziest of ways can make your dislike of winter slightly better?? Well, if I haven’t convinced you yet, I sure am going to try!
