It's been a while since I shared any wellness posts over here...it doesn't help that I am currently kitchen-LESS so while I can't enjoy this amazing breakfast hack, I know most of YOU can so I thought I'd share one of my all time favorites! This meal became a staple of mine when beginning my fitness journey last January. Right around the time I decided to get healthy I was looking for some delicious, yet substantial breakfast foods that would sustain my hunger after a hard workout and fuel the rest of my morning (or until I got hungry again).
This delicious breakfast hack is ingenious for the sheer fact that you probably have both of these things in your fridge and never thought to combine them! Yes, that's right...this recipe is not only amazingly delicious but incredibly easy and cost efficient. So what two ingredients am I talking about??
Well DUH Tessa...that's the oldest breakfast combo in the book! And while that may be true I bet you haven't had THIS kind of eggs & ham (and I'm not referring to GREEN eggs & ham!).
The Most Delicious Breakfast Hack
I've been eating deli ham my entire life and NEVER before had I thought to put deli ham in with my scrambled eggs! But once I tried it I couldn't stop!
However...the key to making this simple combo EXTRA delicious is to get brown sugar ham AND ask the butcher to "shave" your ham; not sliced, not cut, but SHAVED...as in falling apart, as in no actual pieces but shreds.
Now I know this might sound strange but TRUST ME...this step is probably the MOST important step because this is the part that is going to make your ham and your eggs basically melt into one another. I know that sounds kind of weird but I'm telling you...it's LIFE changing. You want to make sure that your ham is falling apart and that there is no actual "slices." This is how I make it:
1. Put a tablespoon of butter in your frying pan
2. Pull your ham apart into pieces and cook till warm or until it has a hint of brown
3. Put your eggs into the pan and scramble all together
4. Cook to your liking
5. Add salt & pepper
*If you want, add a couple slices of avocado and toast or if you really want to spice things up, add some pico de gallo into the mix. MMM-MMM GOOD!
This meal has gotten me through a lot of long days and sustained me WELL into the afternoon. And I hope it can do the same for you as well! If you have any questions please feel free to ask them in the comments section below!
As always, thanks for stopping by!! xoxo, Tessa
