You know that unsettling excitement you feel when your dreams are right before you but still a little ways off? It's like meeting a new friend and feeling that surge of excitement from all the unknown possibilities that friendship could bring or like that feeling you get when you step into the home that you knew was meant for you and all you can do is dream of the endless possibilities...does that ring a bell for anyone?
As I sit and reflect out of the great picture window that has become mine in the last 5 months I can't help but smile from all that the Lord has blessed us with in 2015.
- A blossoming business
- Vision for the future
- A home we can call ours
- ANOTHER baby
The immense love the Father has lavished on us this past year has been enriching, empowering, fruitful and life-giving. I couldn't dream of anything greater. But then as I sit in the stillness, pondering the future and giving thanks for all that has already passed...I hear it. That still, soft voice that seems to quake in my soul. That voice that, when it shows up, speaks louder than any voice I've ever heard.
"What's next Tessa?" I hear it say.
"What dream are you dreaming now?" I hear it say.
"I want you to dream bigger Tessa." It seems to shout.
Father? What do you mean? How can the dream that I've dreamt be any bigger? How can I be anything greater?
I'm pretty sure I heard a laugh after that.
My conversation with the Father went on to be an incredible vision of the future. A vision that I have held deep in my heart without realization. A vision that the Lord began crafting in me from the time I was a little girl. It's funny how our God works, so mysterious yet so obvious when He finally gives you the insight to see.
And that's when it hit me...my 2016 "New Years Resolution" (as many would call it)...DREAM BIGGER. God has placed such a unique dream in us all and even when we think we have caught a glimpse of it, you can expect it to be 10 times greater. The perception we often have of the Father is that He is going to give us just enough of what we want, never greater, never less. But what the Father says about that is..."I have more! My cup overflows and I have MORE!"
Don't underestimate your dreams...more than likely, they are much bigger than you realize.
