Dear Father's Of The World,
I've thought it time and time again: these Hallmark holiday's are just another excuse to dress up nice and take our money. But when I was actually the one being "celebrated" those Hallmark holiday's took on a whole new meaning.
Now this isn't some sappy, woes me blog post about the importance of being recognized by the world on day's like today. This is an up-close and honest piece to all you amazing father's out there to man up and tell your beautiful wife "HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!"
Some of you may be wondering why in the heck I'd even have to remind most father's to say such a thing when...duh...it's Mother's Day after all and (even bigger) DUH...they're the mother to your children. But the truth of the matter is...I've been faced with the truth that more than not, husbands don't believe in celebrating their wife on mother's day for the sheer fact that they aren't their mother.
While that statement may be in true in fact...it doesn't dismiss the even LARGER truth that although she may not be your mother, she is the mother to your children. Now I'm not saying that each mom should expect an extravagant breakfast-in-bed with flowers, and an expensive gift (that's what anniversaries and birthday's are for). I am however saying, that each and every mother deserves to be recognized by her husband for the 9 months that she carried your precious children, for the hours she labored in pain in expectation of that precious bundle, and for the delivery and nursing of that new beautiful life.
For that alone deserves a day of celebration!
So you amazing dads out there...take the time today to at least hug your wife and tell her how amazing she is. For that alone will make her appreciate all the more the father that you are to her children and the man that you are to her.
